As international markets change more rapidly, exporters face increasing demands for transparency and accountability - from the origin of raw materials and working conditions to environmental and social impacts. Croatia’s accession to the OECD emphasises further the need to adapt business to new standards, but also to the expectations of global buyers who increasingly set their own rules of the game. This panel provides concrete examples and recommendations on how Croatian exporters can respond to these challenges, as well as the opportunities provided to those who adapt successfully.

Visions of Croatian exports - where do we see ourselves in 2040

In the time of accelerated climate change, geopolitical tensions, new customs charges and ever-increasing calls for sustainability, Croatian exporters are faced with a series of questions regarding the future of business.

• What will customers expect in 2040? 
• What will be the role of technology, artificial intelligence and energy transition in exports?
• Will we continue to procure and distribute goods and raw materials as we do nowadays or are completely new models of cooperation and supply awaiting us? 
• And, perhaps most importantly - who will do all this?
   

In the conditions of increasing labour shortage, migrations and changing work habits of younger generations, the question arises as to how we will build teams that can cope with global demands. This panel opens a strategic discussion on long-term trends and provides different visions of the role that the Croatian exports can and should have in the decades to come.
